Let's Make Cupcakes

Where are your classes held?
Unless otherwise specified on the timetable, all classes will be held at The Green House Hotel in East Cliff, Bournemouth. Directions and more information on the hotel can be found on their website.

How do I book a class?
Once the first dates are announced, you will be able to book classes via a Classes Timetable. If you would like to be notified as dates become available, please sign up to our mailing list.

I want to book a class, but there are no dates available at the moment – what do I do?
Use the form on the right to sign up to our mailing list, and you’ll be one of the first to receive new dates, as well as exclusive offers, when they are launched.

Do you offer discounts?
To celebrate our launch, we are offering a 10% discount off one class place to everyone who registers their interest before the end of August. This will be valid for six months, and can only be used for one place. We will be offering other promotions in the future – if you would like to be notified of these, please register your interest to add your information to our mailing list.

Do you need experience to attend classes?
Absolutely not! Our main class, Let’s Make… Perfect Cupcakes is ideal for beginners as it covers both baking and decorating, and we do not expect students to have any experience in the material being covered. After you’ve completed this course, you’ll be perfectly placed to take the more advanced courses that we’ll be launching in late 2011.

I have some experience baking/decorating cupcakes, will the classes be suitable for me?
Definitely – our main class …Perfect Cupcakes, will help to consolidate your existing knowledge and ensure you’re working in the most productive and professional way. The new classes that will be launched towards the end of the year will teach more advanced decorating skills that will challenge you further.

I have a food allergy – is it safe for me to attend classes and eat your cakes?
As I have a serious nut and seed allergy myself, I am extremely careful not to use nuts in any of my classes, kitchens or recipes. All items prepared in advance are prepared in a nut-free kitchen, and there will be no nuts whatsoever in the classes. However, as with all food products, I cannot control what happens in the factories that prepare the ingredients used, so it is impossible to guarantee that there will be no nut traces in the products used.
If you are a coeliac, we can provide cakes made with gluten-free flour if we are told in advance.

If you have any allergies, please contact us before booking to discuss your requirements.

What is the minimum age for students?
All students must be at least 16 years of age.

Do I need to bring anything with me?
We know that some companies ask you to bring cakes or equipment with you – we don’t believe that you should have to buy anything before you attend a class, so everything you need is included. We do suggest that you bring an apron to protect your clothing, and you may wish to bring a very small cardboard box to take home any spare decorations you don’t use on the day, but other than that we provide everything you’ll need.

Do I need to bring lunch?
No, lunch is provided for you, along with tea, coffee and water throughout the day.

I can’t attend a class I have booked – can I cancel?
Unfortunately we cannot give refunds where classes are cancelled, as we may not be able to fill your space. You might want to send a friend in your place – please let us know if you decide to do this. If you do need to cancel, let us know - we may be able to transfer you to another date if we are able to fill your space.

Can I use a camera or camcorder during class?
Unfortunately we do not allow participants to use any kind of equipment to record video during classes. If you wish, you may take still photographs of your own work to help you in future. Please do not take photographs of other people’s work without their permission.

How do I get to the venue?
Unless otherwise stated, all classes are held at The Green House Hotel in East Cliff, Bournemouth. You can find more information and directions at their website.

Is parking available at the venue?
The hotel does have limited parking available, but this is also used by residents. There are several public car parks in the vicinity, and lots of roadside parking.
